SkyBLUE Design was established in 1998 by Monika Khanna Gulati, a communication designer and educator with over two decades of diverse experience as an entrepreneur, design management consultant, advertising executive and founding member of a change enabling platform NCR Waste Matters. She is the visiting faculty for visual communication at the Sushant School of Design, Ansal University, Gurgaon, India and weaves issues of sustainability in her teaching.

SkyBLUE Design takes an integrated view of all branding, graphic design and corporate communication needs; from strategy formulation to conceptual design through to the actual implementation. This includes graphic design for publications such as magazines, newsletters, brochures, product literature, training manuals, corporate presentations and reports. A comprehensive approach to design solutions is offered based on research, design thinking and context setting.

In 2009, SkyBLUE Design redefined the logo of the National Gallery of Modern Art on the occasion of the inauguration of its New Wing by Ms. Sonia Gandhi. Several new publications as well as a comprehensive way-finding and signage system for the New Wing of the national Gallery were developed over the next eight years.

Our clients include The British Council, DFID, The World Bank, DRDO, Rapid Metro, UNFPA, UNICEF, Save the Children UK & Duraline-Emerson. We have partnered with several art galleries such as Bodhi Art, Vadhera Art Gallery, Gallerie Nvya and continue to interact closely with leading artists and art-commentators whilst creating their publications. In 2017, we were invited to redesign the ITC Hotels in-house magazine – NAMASTE designing the Kerala, Jodhpur and Aravalli issues for them.

We also lead an initiative called Sky Blue Design Expressions which organises workshops in Gurgaon (Haryana), seminars in the fields of literature, art and architecture – bringing together experts in these fields and eager enthusiasts. NCR Waste Matters looks at sustainability and waste management as a way of life and hope to leverage design thinking tools to engage with civil society members, government bodies and solution providers to enable positive change in our living environment.
