Community composting
We are going on our third year of community composting. Producing close to 1.5 tons (1500 kgs) of compost per month. Champions of Gurgaon – Neelam Ahluwalia and Nitin Das have documented this film which shows how we, at Nirvana Country, a large spread out residential colony of 900 homes in Gurgaon has implemented 3 way segregation (2bin1bag.in) of waste at each home level and decentralised community composting using rotary drums and metal composting bins.
There are many friends who keep in-boxing me for details – so here goes, hope this answers some of your questions and am happy to answer more if there are any. For details on implementation of this decentralised waste management model in nirvana country, please read the detailed case study on the following link:

While in this film, I seem to be the face of the project – there are many many champions who have lent their support and expertise and have ensured that this project stayed alive over the years. My respect to all of them.
