Waste decomposer for community composting

I got a lot of queries on the Waste Decomposer developed by National Centre of Organic Farming after my webinar. I am sharing the process and uses so all of you can benefit from it. It is ideal for #communitycomposting, and can also be used in farms and large soil belts. It may be tough to prepare and keep such a large quantity at home, but you could use a fraction of the decomposer and reduce the quantity accordingly for home purposes.

It is a magic portion which not only helps the waste to decompose really quickly (not rapidly though) but also enhances the microbial quality of the soil and flowering/fruiting of plants:

• Take 2 kg jaggery and mix it in a plastic drum containing 200 litres of water.
• Now take 1 bottle of waste decomposer and pour all its contents in a plastic drum containing
jaggery and water.
• Mix it properly with a wooden stick for uniform distribution.
• Stir it once every day for 4-5 days with a wooden stick.

You will see a frothy layer being formed and by the fifth day, the portion would be ready for use.
For community composting, dilute it 1:10 times (one portion decomposer and 10 parts water) and spray over organic matter. Can be used diluted in similar proportion for flowering plants once a week, or even on your garden soil. You will see the microbial activity increase. Excellent for horticulture composting as well.

Have been talking about it for the past 3 years and wondering why the govt is not encouraging the farmers to use this to mitigate burning of stubble – but now I see some news talking about it being used!! Thank God – how little we value our own native research development to collaborate for lasting solutions.
Just add to a tanker or water source and flood the fields. And what superb quality of soil is going to emerge after a few applications. Govt could have just distributed the above box costing Rs 100 or so to all farmers in Haryana, Punjab and delhi well in time for the season to manage stubble.
